For the past 13 years, venues across the nation have been transformed into a breathtaking extravaganza of a clubbing experience - 2Kinky. Promoter Gary Marto puts all his effort into making every party he throws just that little bit different from the rest, decorating venues to a Hollywood scale of production; transforming them into a labyrinth of debauchery; hiring outrageous performers and musicians and creating a carnival atmosphere that has led to Ministry magazine to state "Few nights can match 2Kinky - they simply do things on a grander scale".
2Kinky began life in the early nineties as the Saturday night at Equinox in Manchester, when a certain Manumission was resident on a Friday. The club still embodies the same spirit - the emphasis is on production, in toying with all the senses to guarantee the clientele a fantastic and special night, away from the norm. Since those first days 2Kinky has enjoyed hugely successful spells at venues in the north such as Sankey's Soap, Generation X and Holy City Zoo, before finding a regular home at The View. 2Kinky has also hosted parties at the 7000 capacity Tall Trees, one of the biggest clubs in Europe, and in Ireland, Scotland and Majorca. In every venue where 2Kinky has pitched camp the ethos has been the same - this is not just a normal club experience, with a few banners strung up about the place - the sporadic nature of the parties give them each event status, with the emphasis on production turning them into miniature indoor festivals - where people know they have been given value for money.
Each party at The View is themed to make it that extra bit kooky - past parties have seen the ever-enthusiastic clubbers as cowboys, Indians, gimps, pimps and prostitutes, Fred Flinstone, Austin Powers - you name it, the 2Kinky punters have probably done it. Twice. They know they've got something special and unique to look forward to, a party that will give them more bang for their buck. It says everything that 1500 people make that monthly pilgrimage to The View, a venue hidden away on a cliff near Frodsham, in Cheshire, for a night of unadulterated bliss. The phrase "I've been 2Kinkied" is not uncommon among clubbers of a Sunday morning.
2Kinky is a name well known and respected across clubland - truly a night out that has to be seen to be believed.
