DJ FloJo - Female House DJ
Biography
Hi, I have been in club scene since it was born. I went to all the warehouse parties and even lead a few convoys in my time which was fab! I used to be known for carrying a ghetto blaster round with me to all the service stations before there was any legal clubs. I was the one making all the noise! I didn’t really bother with mixing on decks until around 1991 when I had my first blast on a friends decks. It was something I fell in love with straight away. I didn’t mix again until I invested in my own set in 1996 where I then played a lot to my neighbours without their consent. As years progressed I was offered a job in a hotel in Morecambe called The Midland Hotel, which held 2 events which I appeared at both. I also had a spot at a cafe in Wigan called The Last Supper. Unfortunately these nights are no longer heard of as with all good clubs, they seem to come to an end for one reason or another.
In the year millennium (2000) my decks were stolen along with my will to live without my turntables so I didn’t continue my quest to play until 2002 when I had to buy myself some more. When in a club I like to dance all night so I play what I think would keep me dancing all night. I just wish I had focused on being a DJ when I first became involved with the whole scene as only now I realise it is the music which is my passion. I have always gone out to appreciate good music and buzz off the vibe from each other. This is why I am focusing on playing in clubs now, because I have a good understanding of what people want to dance to and not have to travel miles to listen to it.
Thank you for listening!

Female DJs
It's party time and a small army of DJs are packing their record boxes to play at clubs from Tokyo to San Francisco. Unfortunately there are still comparatively few women among them - find out why there are so few women DJ's.
