Echomen
Echomen is an electronic music production trio consisting of Chris Scott, Anton Fielding, and Graeme “Cheb” Stewart. They are also known as Mooncat and Time Design. They have released singles on labels such as Hooj Choons, Forensic Records and Saw Recordings. These singles have received much play from DJs and have been featured on compilations from the Nubreed series as well James Zabiela's Sound in Motion.
Chris has recorded classic deep house as New Phunk Theory and Lexicon Avenue for labels such as Paper, Forensic Records, Airtight and Guidance. Anton is one half of Solaris Heights who have recorded for Paper and Guidance and been responsible for some of the UK's finest House, which is always deep, musical and brimming with funk, as well as DJing at the infamous Shindig and guest spots around the country. With support from all the major US DJ's for their past work, we are sure that this new project with it's more electronic and twisted feel will hit the spot both here and across the Atlantic.
Anton and Chris first met in 1998 through as mutual friend Mark Armstrong (Lexicon Avenue), and then went on to produce a single under the ‘Bone City’ name. This single featured Graeme “Cheb” Stewart on keyboards, who was playing on some of Chris’s ‘New Funk Theory’ projects. Graeme “Cheb” Stewart then became the ‘Echomen’ vocalist.
In the year 2000 Anton and Chris got back together and formed ‘Echomen’. Both having grown up listening to eighties bands such as, ‘Depeche Mode’, ‘New Order’ and ‘The Cure’, this started to show through some of their productions.
2001 saw the release of ‘Havana’ on ‘End Recordings’ and ‘Thru 2 You’ on ‘Airtight’. A video was made for ‘Thru 2 You’ and featured Graeme “Cheb” Stewart on vocals. The video was shown on TV programmes including ‘Seb Fontaines Big Night Out’. 2002 also saw the release of ‘Truth’ on ‘Hooj’, this featured Graeme on vocals, and finally ‘Substance’ on ‘Forensic’, which was licensed to ‘Satoshi Tomiies’ ‘Global Underground Compilation’.
More recently Anton and Chris together as ‘Echomen’ have taken their live ‘decks and effects’ show on the road and played at various clubs in the UK and around the world.
